Set your payment method

Which payment methods are considered valid
and invalid

Your ad campaigns won’t run until your Apple Business organization includes a valid payment method. You can add your payment card during the campaign setup process or on the Payments & Billing page.

Apple Ads accepts Visa, Mastercard (including Apple Card), and American Express. PIN-less and PIN-optional Visa and Mastercard debit cards are also accepted. Your debit card daily spending limit must be able to cover your campaign charges. Payments in India are accepted using a UPI app or a credit or debit card issued by a bank outside of India — direct payments by credit or debit cards issued by a bank in India are not accepted.

When you use Apple Card as your payment method for Apple Ads, you get 3% Daily Cash back. Apple Card is currently available to qualifying applicants in the United States. Learn more about Apple Card.

Invalid forms of payment include pre-paid cards, gift cards — including those branded as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express — ATM cards, and digital wallets such as PayPal and Venmo.

Apple Ads doesn’t charge fees for credit card transactions, but credit card carriers may charge you foreign transaction fees. Please contact your credit card provider regarding when foreign transaction fees apply. Apple Ads will not reimburse or issue credits for charged foreign transaction fees.

If a charge to your payment card is declined for any reason, we’ll attempt to charge the payment method again within 24 hours of the declined transaction, and your campaigns may be paused. If there’s an outstanding invoice and you add a replacement payment method to your account, we’ll automatically charge the replacement payment method within 24 hours from the time the payment information is updated. Note that we can’t manually run charges upon request. Once the transaction is authorized, your ads will become eligible to appear on Maps again.

By saving your payment card, Apple may initiate and charge the payment method for subsequent payments made toward your ad campaigns in Apple Business. Such payments will be initiated and charged in accordance with the Apple Advertising Services Terms of Service and the payment methods found here.

Understand the billing cycle

If you plan to run ads on Maps in multiple countries and regions

Ads on Maps are available in the United States and Canada. Only advertisers with business locations and an address for their organization in those countries will be able to run ads on Apple Maps. If you’re running ads in both the U.S. and Canada, you should notify your payment method issuer to ensure that there won’t be any issues processing foreign transactions. You’ll also receive two separate invoices because charges for each country are billed through separate entities. For more information, see the Apple Advertising Services Terms of Service.

In addition, as of September 2019, European legislation may require your bank to authenticate your payment card during the registration process if your card is issued by a bank located in the European Economic Area. If so, you’ll be redirected to your bank to authenticate and complete the transaction.

Which currencies are supported

You can set the currency for your Apple Business organization to any of the following:

  • Australian dollar (AUD)

  • British pound (GBP)

  • Canadian dollar (CAD)

  • Euro (EUR)

  • Japanese yen (JPY)

  • Mexican peso (MXN)

  • New Zealand dollar (NZD)

  • U.S. dollar (USD)

All billing activity will occur in the currency you select. You can select only one currency per account, and once it’s set you can’t change it.
