Create and manage ads
Create engaging and relevant ads
for customers
Ads on Maps can help you reach customers when they’re searching for businesses like yours. When a customer searches in Maps, your ad can appear either at the top of the Suggested Places list or in relevant search results. During ad creation, you can choose one placement or all of them.
You’ll customize your ad with assets and promotional text that show what your business has to offer. And when a customer taps your ad, they’ll land on the place card that you set up in Apple Business. Your place card can have a cover photo, your brand logo, actions customers can take (like directions to your business), and more.
How to create an ad
- Select Campaigns in the left navigation menu.
- Click the Ads tab.
- Click the Create Ad button.
- Enter the brand that you want this ad to promote.
- Choose the campaign where you want this ad to run. Remember that ad placements are selected at the campaign level, so make sure that you choose a campaign that includes the placements where you want this ad to run.
- Choose the ad group where you want this ad to run. When choosing where to run this ad, consider the way that you organized your ad groups — maybe by theme or strategy. Learn more about ad groups.
- Name your ad. This name will help you identify and organize your ad within Apple Ads. Customers won’t see this name on your ad in Maps.
- Choose or create ad creative. Your ad creative is the set of assets and promotional text that appear when your ad is displayed. You can make a new ad creative for this ad, or choose from existing ones. Learn more about ad creatives.
- Use the ad preview to see a representation of your ad. Note that some ad elements may differ from the live ad, and ad previews only display one of your locations as an example.
- Click Save.
After you create an ad, you can view it in the Ads dashboard.
Manage your ads
You can edit ads, activate or pause them, remove them, view performance data, and more, all in your Ads dashboard. To get there, select Campaigns from the left navigation menu, then click the Ads tab. On this dashboard you can:

- Monitor performance data for all of your ads. You can see key metrics like impressions, taps, spend, actions, and more.
- Activate or pause ads by selecting the ad and clicking Activate or Pause in the toolbar. You can also use the On/Off toggle next to the ad name.
- Remove an ad by selecting it and clicking Remove from the toolbar.
- Filter your ads by brand, campaign, ad placement, ad group, ad creative, ad ID, or brand ID.
