Make edits in bulk

Manage campaign, ad group, ad, and keyword settings at scale with an easy-to-use template

Bulk edit capabilities offer an easy way to update multiple campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords all at once. You can make edits to your ad placement, bid strategy, daily budget, keywords, static location groups, and more. Use the toolbar in any of your dashboards to download existing settings, or upload new ones.

Your updated or new campaigns can go live as soon as you upload the spreadsheet.

Download the campaign settings template

How to download and edit
existing settings

  1. Go to the Campaigns, Ad groups, Ads, or Keywords dashboard.
  2. Click the Download button in the toolbar.
  3. Choose the Campaign and Ad Group Settings option to download your settings data in an XLSX file. You may also download a list of location refinement options to see the abbreviations you can use for specific countries/regions, states/admin areas, and cities/localities.
  4. Click the Download button.

In the Actions column of your campaign settings template, choose to designate the row to add, edit, or delete settings. Use the instructions in the column to enter valid formats and supported values. Once you’ve finished making edits, upload the campaign settings template back into Apple Ads using the steps below.

Note that if you’re adding keywords, you can bulk upload up to 5,000 keywords at a time. Note that for languages that include non-ASCII characters, you must save your XLSX file with UTF-8 encoding to prevent character corruption.

  3. After you’ve input settings data for your new campaigns, add them to your account by uploading your spreadsheet. Note that you should leave the campaign ID, ad group ID, and ad ID cells blank, as Apple Ads will automatically generate those for you.

Considerations for using
the template

Keep in mind the following when you’re inputting settings:

  • You can add a maximum of 500 rows to your spreadsheet. Each row will contain information for a specific campaign, ad group, ad, or keyword. All campaigns must be in the same campaign group.
  • When entering multiple values, use commas to separate each.
  • All monetary data, such as daily budget and bid amounts, will use the currency that you set in your Apple Ads account.
  • When formatting dates and times for campaign or ad group start or end dates and times, use year-month-day and hour-minute-second formatting: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. Dates and times will use the same time zone set for your Apple Ads account.
  • If you want your ads to run only on certain days of the week or at certain times, you can enter times in the Ad Scheduling column. Numbers should range from 0 to 167, representing the hours of a week beginning at Sunday 12:00 a.m. So if, for example, you wanted your ads to appear on Maps on Fridays starting at 6:00 p.m. and run until Saturdays at 2:00 a.m., you would enter 138, 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146.

To manage campaigns and pull reports programmatically, consider using the Apple Ads Platform API.
