Define audience settings
Make optional adjustments to define who can see
your ads
When you create a campaign or ad group, audience settings are automatically optimized to help you reach the most customers on Maps, with Reach All Eligible Audiences as the default setting.
You also have the choice to define specific audiences, but keep in mind that narrow audience settings will limit impressions. If you’re going to define audience settings in any of your campaigns, it’s a good idea to also create a campaign that will reach all eligible audiences. This will allow your ads to appear to a broader set of customers who may also be interested in your business, but may fall outside of your defined settings.
Geographic settings
If you choose to define your audience settings, you have these geographic area options:
- All Eligible helps you reach the broadest audience of people who are looking for businesses like yours. Apple Ads will match your ad based on factors such as the search query (for search results campaigns) and view of the map.
- Radius lets you serve your ad to customers based on their approximate distance from your locations or their view of the map. You can select Broad, Medium, or Narrow to change the area of the radius. Note that the geographical area associated with each radius may change based on the population density around your locations.
-
Regional Area lets you define your audience by adding city, state/province, or postal code. Using broad geographic areas like state/province may help increase your audience size. Your ad delivery may sometimes extend beyond the exact boundaries of your selections, including across state or province lines.
To view a list of every supported location that you can enter as a regional area, go to your Ad Groups dashboard and click the Download button in the toolbar. Click Download list of location refinement options, and an XLSX file will automatically download to your computer. You can use it as a reference when you add regional area locations.
Once you’ve made your audience selections, learn how to schedule when your ads will serve.
